Now that we're starting to get closer and closer to our due date (exactly two months from this date!) we wanted to start getting the baby room put together. We already had a beautiful light blue color picked out and with the white trim in the room we thought it would look beautiful.
"Oh no, you can't paint a baby girl's room blue!"

You better believe we can. :)
First step is taping. This part always seems to take 3x as long as the rest of the process.
Next was the actual painting process. Nikki was exempt from this part of the process. And by that I mean I banned her from stepping into the room.
Lastly, I wanted to give our little girl something special. Call me a sentimental old fool (I am all three) but I made the decision to paint a heart on the wall. Once dried it's the same color blue as the rest of the wall so you can only barely see it from certain angles, but we know it's there, and now you do, too. Someday she will.
The room done, dried, and tape removed. Safe enough for these two.

I'm officially in tears! Eric, you are a great husband and I have no doubt that you will be the most gentle loving father. You are everything a little girl could dream of wanting in a dad. You will simply melt when you meet her for the first time. My heart is overwhelmed with joy for you and Nikki. I love you both! I love the room color too. I'm surprised it isn't green!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy! You are sweet beyond words and I greatly appreciate them. We love you so much!
