The previous couple of years for us had been particularly difficult. Four miscarriages is bad enough as it is, but to have had them happen back to back seemed to make it worse.
It goes without saying, then, that the morning of June 21st, just days after Nikki's 33rd birthday, was a day that had us more scared than excited (as we had come to expect by this point). Our pregnancy test that morning showed us that we were pregnant, but unlike others this one seemed visually strong. Could it possibly have meant good news? We were hopeful but terrified.
